Ideas for the backyard.

Here are my ideas for the backyard.

This is the sketch I did.  It is not to scale.

FOR STEVE
The Deck will be the TimberTech in either Walnut or Brick.
  • Demolish the old deck and clear away debris
  • Build new deck
  • Railings on left and right side
  • Steps on front that are open (where we can put pots on them or even cushions to hang out. This is what I imagine they will look like.)

  • Built in potting bench on left between window and deck's edge
  • Built in grill table on right against the outside wall of house by grill
  • Built in "shed" on side of house by grill (see picture)

  • Lattice on all sections below the deck (to prevent creatures from getting under the deck.
The Trellis on concrete fence posts in the back of the yard by the creek.
This is what I imagine them to look  like... The wood would not be painted.
It would be the same material as the deck.  We would need electrical on one of the posts and would like it upgraded to 220volt for the potential placement (down the road) of a hottub.  The first picture is our existing fence...

Steve will build the trellis and Alvaro will reface the existing concrete columns.

FOR ALVARO
The area with the round colorful flowers is the FLOWERBED.
  • Clean Up
  • Put down weed guard
  • Plant as many colorful, easy to care for bushes as appropriate
  • The flowerbed will continue on one side of the tree.  On the other side will be the compressed sand that you used for Betsy's yard.  (see photo)

The yellow area in the back is the DOG AREA.  This is for the dogs.

  • Clean up
  • Put down weed guard
  • Put down small pebbles
The grey area in the sketch is the new paver patio.
  • Clean Up
  • Install the paver patio
  • We will not be demo'ing the existing concrete in the yard so we'll choose pavers that match and coordinate with the existing brick. (something like this picture below)

General Cleanup
  • Need to cut back the trees in the stream
  • Put the same pebbles as in the dog area all the way down the left side of the house

Kitchen... before and after

Before.... white tile counters.

New Granite with new single bowl sink and gas cooktop.

One of the first jobs in the new house back in October was to change out the original white tile and replace it with Uba Tuba granite. We also switched out the electric cooktop for a new gas one.
